This gorgeous band ring is set with an engraved cross (faith), an anchor (hope) and heart (charity) to a solid 9ct Yellow Gold Band. These types of rings became extremely popular during the late Victorian period. Faith is associated with the cross, symbol of Christianity; to Hope with the anchor, to whom man clings to in his everyday life; Charity is represented by the heart, symbol of love. The piece would possibly have had woven hair to the outside of the band, this was a popular style during this period and was classed as a token of love, friendship, or in memoriam of a beloved family member. The band carries a crisp and clear Chester Hallmark of 1894.
