Central Vintage Jewellery is part of Central Collectables, which has over 20 years experience in buying and selling antique ceramics and vintage jewellery.
What started out initially as a hobby to fund an ever increasing collection, the business was formed and moved very quickly selling online to customers all across the world. The website has grown at a rapid pace to take into account the ever changing needs of the market and is managed and updated by Sally Oakley. You can find us across various social media platforms and we also have stores on Etsy and ebay.
We also had the pleasure in contributing our knowledge and expertise to the 2016/2017 edition of The Millers Collectors Guide for our Art Deco Ceramics, something which we are extremely proud of. In May 2022 we were approached to feature in the Platinum Jubilee edition of the Sunday Times pull out guide “Art, Antiques and Collectables Checklist” as a recognised Vintage Jewellery Specialist – again, a very proud moment for our small business.
Sally is extremely passionate about Art Deco and period style Jewellery and has extending her knowledge further by studying at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America (GIA), De Beers Diamond Institute and is an associate member of the GEM-A.
Sally obtained her GIA AJP Accreditation in May 2016 and since then has completed various GIA Courses forming part of the prestigious GIA Graduate Gemologist Certificate which is widely recognised within the industry.
In February 2020 Sally completed the requirement to pass the International Gem Society Professional Gemologist Qualification, successfully completing 3 written exams followed by a practical examination.
Sally is fascinated by Diamonds and Gemstones, attends local auctions and antiques fairs as well as gem trade shows. Sally buys from various trusted sources all over the UK to ensure stock is continually rotated.
Sally has two beautiful girls, Izzy and Jess and behind the scenes husband Marcus who is always keen to assist where he can. Eldest daughter Izzy can usually be found modelling some of the pretty rings you will see across the website and on Instagram.
Sally cleans and polishes all items before they are released for sale and has established firm relationships with local gem dealers / gem setters should there be a specific requirement.
